A relic from the mining that occurred in this region in the 1930's. Many pieces of equipment can be found in the vicinity of the hut. Snow cover and cross country touring skis allows exploration of areas that would otherwise be impossible or "difficult" to explore. The contrast of the snow makes these dark objects stand out. When there is no snow, things like this are often passed unseen.
